BEACHES TURKS AND CAICOS

We traveled to Turks and Caicos for the first time in July and loved it.  The beaches are gorgeous and the watersports are great.  Beaches is a first class resort for families - it is almost like a theme park there is so much to do!  But couples can also enjoy this resort - there are adults only areas and the beach is big enough that you can easily get away from the crowds.  Scuba and snorkeling are also excellent.  The water park was so much fun both adults and kids loved it!  Check out the pictures below.

GRAND LIDO NEGRIL EPICUREAN EVENT

We had a group down in Negril, Jamaica for this event and everyone had a fantastic time!!  The food was incredible and the cooking and wine tasting classes were fun and informative.  We attended a Champagne tasting class held by the head sommelier for Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio Las Vegas.  Bill's favorite was Krug - a Champagne that goes for $700!!  There were chefs from around the world and on the last night they all participated in an EIGHT COURSE meal with wine/champagne pairings for each course.  It was absolutely mouthwatering and was finished off by an incredible dessert.  On another night we had a Grand Gala Buffet out on the beach with a huge assortment of food.  Smirnoff had a Martini station set up with flavored vodkas and Red Stripe had a beer station.  The entertainment was very good with a steel band and dancers.

Before the event started some of us took a day tour to the Appleton Rum factory, YS Falls, and Rick's Cafe.  The Appleton Rum tour was fantastic!  At the end they left us in a room with a variety of rum and told us to drink all we want!  YS Falls was absolutely gorgeous (see picture) and the water was very refreshing (as in cold)! 

We already have quite a bit of interest in this same event for next year!!  It will be the 10th Annual Epicurean Event for Grand Lido Negril and we are sure it will be better than ever!!  It is hosted by Food and Wine magazine along with many other sponsors.  Even if you are not into cooking you will most surely enjoy the food and drink!!  Give us a call if you are interested and we can add you to the list.  We do not have exact dates yet but it should be sometime towards the end of June.

BREEZES BAHAMAS

Kathy and Bill recently returned from Nassau, Bahamas where they enjoyed the excellent Breezes property there.  The renovated Deluxe rooms are quite nice with new bathroom furnishings and brand new sliding glass doors that open onto a nice french balcony.  You have a choice of Garden View, Ocean View, or Ocean Front.  We highly recommend getting an Ocean View at least - the colors of the ocean here are incredible (see picture).

The new gourmet restaurant, Garden of Eden, is very nice and romantic with either outside dining in a beautiful garden or inside dining at very nice booths (see picture) with views of that same garden.

The pool area at Breezes is also quite nice with a swim up bar and misting area.
